Questions and answers may appear in the public archive and may be reused elsewhere. A third-party AI provider may process your question. Do not include names, secrets, confidential facts, or anything you would object to seeing on a screen behind Anthony.
What we collect
When you use the Site, we may collect:
- the question and other text you choose to submit;
- Anthony’s response, an outcome label, an ego score, and a timestamp;
- ordinary technical and security information processed by hosting providers, such as IP address, browser or device information, and request logs; and
- communications you voluntarily send to the Site operator.
The Site does not need your real name to answer a question. Please do not volunteer it. Anthony will survive the mystery.
How we use information
We use information to:
- generate, deliver, store, and publicly display Anthony’s answers;
- operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Site;
- detect abuse and enforce the Terms;
- reuse and publish submissions as described in the Terms; and
- comply with law and protect rights, safety, and the service.
AI use disclosure
When AI service is available, the Site sends your question and instructions describing Anthony’s fictional persona to a third-party AI service provider, currently Groq, to generate a response. The Site does not intentionally add your name or email address to that request. The provider processes the request under its own applicable terms and privacy practices.
If the AI service fails, a procedural generator may answer instead. Either method can be wrong. One is simply wrong with access to more vocabulary.
Public archive and reuse
Submitted questions and generated answers are designed to be stored in a publicly accessible archive. They may be indexed, copied, shared, quoted, edited, or republished under the license in the Terms. Do not submit personal or confidential information.
We may remove or anonymize material in our discretion, but the Internet may preserve copies made by others. Publication is easier to start than to reverse. Anthony calls this “basic physics.”
When information is shared
Information may be shared with:
- AI, hosting, database, security, and other service providers that operate the Site;
- the public, when a question, answer, or derivative is published;
- authorities or other parties when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, or investigate abuse; and
- a successor in a merger, sale, reorganization, or transfer of the Site.
The Site operator does not currently sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising. Anthony’s opinions remain untargeted and therefore everyone’s problem.
Cookies and outside services
The Site does not currently add advertising or analytics cookies. Hosting and security providers may use essential technologies and process technical logs to deliver and protect the Site. Links to outside sites are governed by those sites’ privacy practices, which Anthony has not volunteered to rewrite.
Retention and security
Public archive entries may be retained indefinitely or until removed in the Site operator’s discretion. Technical records may be retained as needed for operations, security, legal compliance, and provider requirements.
Reasonable safeguards are used, but no website or transmission is perfectly secure. The safest confidential question is the one you never submit to a public parody machine.
Your choices and rights
You can choose not to submit a question. You can also use browser controls to limit local storage or cookies, though some essential features may stop working. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of certain personal information. Requests may be sent through any contact method the Site operator makes available, and identity may need to be verified before a request is completed.
Children and policy changes
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you are under 13, do not submit anything. Parents or guardians who believe a child submitted personal information should use any available operator contact method to request review.
This Policy may be updated by posting a revised version and effective date. Significant changes will be described on the Site when reasonably practical. Anthony reserves the right to say he predicted them.
